Whether it is a walk through the streets of Paris, Milan, or Los Angeles, taking a swim in the Adriatic Sea, or sitting in a cafe watching the world move on by, the visual world is stored behind the designer’s eye. These tableaus are the basis of the creative process and they are called forward when the artist begins their craft. It is this visual memory stash that gives way to the ideas that become art, and the art that becomes fashion.
We wanted to share the intention behind the JAC design process and what inspires RozeMerie to create her innovative and momentous fashions. Read on to find out how art inspires design, and how design inspires life.
The Start of Something New
JAC designs begin with a colour palette. The palette can be inspired by a number of mediums, from pop culture to interior design, architecture, and social trends. Colour creates a mood and that mood becomes the basis of the design.
The next step is fabric. The colours need to be translated perfectly to the fabric, so understanding movement and draping is important here. As well, sustainability is key! JAC clothing uses fabrics that are natural cottons, linens, silks, bamboo, modal, tercel and cashmere. Some fabrics are woven in with stitches that will repel UV rays. Some silks used have been recycled from off cut materials.
The design of the garment is created once the colour and fabric textures have been chosen. Each garment is designed to enhance the female form, allow for ease of comfort, keeping a timelessness, confident, and strong aesthetic in mind.

Art, in All its Forms
The fluidity of the designer impacts the versatility of the designs, and JAC clothing is a perfect example of this fact. To understand ourselves, we have to understand what moves us, what inspires us to create, change, and grow.
Architectural design is a key component of all JAC fashions. RozeMerie draws inspiration from the city scape, the hustle, and the calm. The modern urban city is the place where JAC women spend their time. “We are a brush stroke on the painting we call the street”
